Mijn naam is Paulien Ruiter, ik ben 52 jaar, moeder van zes prachtige kinderen (32, tweeling van 26, 24, 23 en 20) en partner van Frank. Samen runnen we in Spanje een bedrijf dat bed- en badtextiel ontwikkelt. Daarnaast heb ik mijn eigen onderneming waarin we medische tools ontwikkelen voor vrouwelijke en mannelijke gezondheid op intimiteitsgebied.
Onlangs ben ik gestart als COO bij een bedrijf dat bijoux en accessoires maakt voor grote retailketens in Europa.
Vrijwilligerswerk is al jaren een belangrijk onderdeel van mijn leven. Zo heb ik als bestuurslid van Quality of Life meerdere gala’s georganiseerd waarmee we geld ophaalden voor onderzoek naar kinderkanker. Op dit moment bereid ik een nieuw gala voor samen met de ALS Stichting. Mijn motivatie is persoonlijk: ik heb recent een goede vriendin aan ALS verloren.
Sinds vorig jaar woon ik in Spanje, al ben ik nog regelmatig in Nederland, vooral in Amsterdam, waar we ook een huis hebben. Hoewel ik hier nog niet heel bekend ben, ontdek ik met veel plezier nieuwe plekken. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: mijn favoriete plek blijft toch het strand, in de zon.
Ik kijk ernaar uit jullie allemaal te ontmoeten. Dat zal vanaf februari zijn, want tot die tijd ben ik veel in Nederland en China voor mijn werk.

My name is Paulien Ruiter, I am 52 years old, the mother of six wonderful children (32, twins aged 26, 24, 23 and 20) and the partner of Frank. Together, we run a company in Spain that develops bed and bath textiles. In addition, I have my own business in which we develop medical tools for both female and male intimate health.
Recently, I started as COO at a company that produces bijoux and accessories for major retail chains across Europe.
Volunteering has been an important part of my life for many years. As a board member of Quality of Life, I have organised several galas to raise funds for research into childhood cancer. At the moment, I am preparing a new gala together with the ALS Foundation. My motivation is personal: I recently lost a close friend to ALS.
Since last year, I have been living in Spain, although I am still regularly in the Netherlands, especially in Amsterdam, where we also have a home. Although I am not yet very familiar with the area here, I enjoy discovering new places. But honestly, my favourite place remains the beach, in the sunshine.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you all. That will be from February onwards, as until then I will be spending a lot of time in the Netherlands and China for work.
